Bethesda Softworks

Bethesda’s ecosystem includes millions of players with long-standing behaviors, diverse technical comfort levels, and deep emotional investment in franchises. My work supported two major platform efforts: creating a streamlined web experience for transferring game assets and shaping a new marketplace for discovering and managing community-driven mods.

game mods marketplace

A marketplace for players to discover, download, and manage community-created content.

Bethesda’s modding community has been active for decades, but a lackluster toolset for creators meant they often had to bend the rules to show their work in its best light. This project introduced a new web-based marketplace designed to improve mod discovery and trust for the players while providing creators the tools they needed to showcase their creations. As an IC designer, I contributed to the structure of search and detail views, balancing user needs for players and creators.

asset transfer tool

A streamlined experience to help players move their game assets with confidence.

As Bethesda prepared to sunset their PC game launcher, gamers needed a way to retain their purchased games and earned rewards and virtual currency. This project focused on creating a streamlined, trustworthy flow for transferring owned game assets while minimizing confusion. As UX and UI design lead, I drove the interaction model, information hierarchy, and error-handling strategy, ensuring the experience felt reassuring, aligned with player mental models, and flexible enough to accommodate a range of account states and edge cases.
