Google Maps

My work at Google focused on evolving Maps from a navigation tool into a more personal system for remembering, organizing, and returning to meaningful places. I contributed to modernization efforts across core surfaces and helped introduce new features designed around user intent, personalization, and long-term engagement.

placesheet modernization

A redesigned core experience to make local tasks faster and more intuitive.

Users rely on Placesheet to make decisions and to learn about the places around them. The existing ranking and visual design of modules prioritized information needs over quick actions, leading users away from Maps for actionable tasks. Working with a team of UX and visual designers and UX researchers, I redesigned and reorganized the placesheet’s overview tab with a focus on streamlining core user journeys.

Your Recent Places

A personalized hub of all the places you’ve viewed, visited, and saved

People interact with places in many ways across Google Maps, from searching and visiting, to saving, sharing and leaving reviews. But there wasn’t one clear place to return to the places they touched along the way. We introduced a new hub to make it easier to pick up where they left off.
